Flood warning for Rushington and Eling on the Bartley Water

High river levels are expected to cause flooding on Thursday. 

Flooding is expected on 18 December 2025 from 17:30, as a lot of rain (50mm) fell on Thursday. 

Flooding will affect Ashurst Bridge and property at Woodlands Road. Impacts are not expected in the lower Bartley Water at Eling, Totton and Rumbridge. Only a small amount of rain is forecast over the next 24 hours. River levels and flood risk should begin to reduce in Ashurst Bridge by 06:00 on 19/12/2025. 

We are closely monitoring the situation and keeping the Bartley Water free of blockages.
