Flood warning for West Dean to Dunbridge on the River Dun

High river levels are expected to cause flooding on Tuesday. 

Flooding is expected on 27 January 2026 from 09:30, as a lot of rain (36mm) fell overnight 

Flooding will affect property at West Dean, near the railway line at the bottom of Rectory Hill. Showers are forecast for the remainder of the morning. River levels and flood risk will remain high throughout most of today. The river levels should begin to fall by late afternoon. 

We are monitoring rainfall and river levels and keeping the River Dun free of reported blockages. 

Activate any flood protection products you may have and move cars parked at Rectory Hill.
