Flood alert for Groundwater flooding in Bishops Sutton

Groundwater levels in Bishops Sutton are high and falling very slowly. In the last week, the level has fallen by 2cm. We expect properties in Bishops Sutton to be experiencing cellar flooding. Roads (such as the B3047) will be flooded, and impacts to septic tanks are ongoing. We expect a small number of properties will be experiencing internal ground floor flooding. From today 18/04/2024 to Monday 22/04/2024, minimal rain is forecast. Groundwater levels are expected to fall very slowly over the next week and the situation will improve. However, groundwater flooding impacts are expected to continue throughout April and into May. We continue to monitor the levels and forecast. If you have pumps to help reduce water levels, please ensure that they are operating. This Flood Alert will be updated by 18:00 on Thursday 25/04/2024.
