Flooding is possible - be prepared

Flood alert for River Rother and its tributaries from Turks Bridge to the Royal Military Canal

Get flood warnings by phone, text or email

Heavy rain has fallen through Thursday 15 January. River levels remain high leading to flooding of low lying land and roads close to the river, particularly in the Crowhurst Bridge area, around Shrub Lane, and around Robertsbridge. We are closely monitoring the situation. There is no significant rainfall in the forecast, river levels peaked and are starting to fall. Take care and avoid walking, cycling or driving through flood water. Never drive through flood water, just 30cm of fast flowing water is enough. This message will be updated by 10:00am on 17 January 2026 or as the situation changes.

Flood alert area: River Rother and its tributaries from Turks Bridge to the Royal Military Canal, including Crowhurst Bridge, Etchingham, Robertsbridge, Salehurst and Bodiam.
