Flooding is possible - be prepared

Flood alert for Ginge Brook

Get flood warnings by phone, text or email

Property flooding is not currently expected. River levels are high but stable on the Ginge Brook following rainfall earlier in the week. Therefore, flooding of low lying land and roads remains possible overnight, especially in the areas closest to the Ginge Brook near Steventon. Storm Bert is forecast to bring persistent and heavy rain over the weekend (23/11/2024 and 24/11/2024), and levels are likely to respond again to that rainfall. In the event that internal property flooding is expected a flood warning will be issued and our duty staff continue to monitor the forecast and river levels. Avoid using low lying footpaths near local watercourses. Go to the 'River and Sea levels in England' webpage for current river levels. This message will be updated tomorrow morning, 23/11/24, or as the situation changes.

Flood alert area: Ginge Brook, for the Steventon area down to and including Sutton Courtenay.
