River levels are falling slowly at the higher section of the River Thames, but still rising slowly closer to Oxford. Therefore, flooding of roads and low lying land is expected to continue today (31/01/25), particularly between Lechlade on Thames and Newbridge, and in the Eynsham area. Some rain is forecast for this morning (31/01/25), but clearing by this afternoon, and the forecast for the coming days is currently dry.
We expect those section that are still rising to start to stabilise soon. Levels remain sensitive to further rainfall. We are monitoring the situation. Avoid using low-lying footpaths near local watercourses. Go to the 'River and Sea levels in England' webpage for current river levels. This message will be updated tomorrow morning, 01/02/25, or as the situation changes.
