High river levels may lead to flooding.

River levels are high on parts of the River Kennet and its tributaries from Berwick Bassett down to Newbury. Flooding of low lying land and roads is possible today, 16 February 2026, including in the Knighton, Hungerford and Newbury areas. Today is forecast to be predominantly dry with a few scattered showers, some of which may be heavy. We expect river levels to remain high over the coming days.

Flood alert area: River Kennet from Berwick Bassett to Newbury including Winterbourne Monkton, Marlborough, Ramsbury, Hungerford, Denford, Kintbury and Newbury; also the River Og, the River Aldbourne, the Froxfield Stream, the River Dun and the River Shalbourne.
