Rising river levels this evening may lead to flooding. 

Flooding is possible from the evening of 15 January 2026 . 

Flooding of low lying land and roads is expected especially in the Woodford Halse area. River levels have risen due to persistent heavy rain today. Further rainfall is possible tomorrow. We expect river levels to rise this evening, 15 January 2026, and to remain high tomorrow. 

We are monitoring rainfall and river levels . 

Avoid low lying roads near rivers, which may be flooded . Go to River levels online for updates on current river levels.

Flood alert area: River Cherwell and its tributaries from Charwelton to just above Upper Heyford including Woodford Halse, Edgcote, Cropredy, Marston St Lawrence, Banbury, Kings Sutton, Hook Norton and Croughton.
