Flooding is possible - be prepared

Flood alert for River Evenlode from Moreton in Marsh to Cassington and also the River Glyme at Wootton and Woodstock

Property flooding is not currently expected.

The river is back to flowing within banks on the River Evenlode, but still out of banks on the River Glyme. Flooding of low lying land and roads is expected to continue today and tomorrow along the River Glyme, (29/02/2024), especially in the Woodstock area. The forecast today and tomorrow is for rain, which could be heavy at times. We expect river levels to continue to drop on the River Evenlode while remaining stable or falling very slowly on the River Glyme. Levels will remain high and sensitive to further rainfall over the coming days.

Avoid using low lying footpaths near local watercourses. Go to the 'River and Sea levels in England' webpage for current river levels. This message will be updated tomorrow morning, (01/03/2024) , or as the situation changes.
