Flooding is possible - be prepared

Flood alert for River Cole, Dorcan Brook and South Marston Brook

Get flood warnings by phone, text or email

Property flooding is not currently expected. River levels are rising on the River Cole and Dorcan Brook as a result of Storm Bert. Therefore, flooding of low lying land and roads is expected this afternoon and this evening 23/11/24, especially in the Covingham Drive area. Further rainfall which could be heavy at times is forecast today, overnight and tomorrow morning. We expect river levels to remain sensitive to the heavier bands of rain so although levels may fall later this evening they are expected to rise again overnight. Our staff have been checking and clearing trash screens and we are monitoring the situation. Go to the 'River and Sea levels in England' webpage for current river levels. Avoid using low lying footpaths near local watercourses. This message will be updated tomorrow, 24/11/24, or as the situation changes.

Flood alert area: River Cole, Dorcan Brook and South Marston Brook for the East Swindon and South Marston areas down to above Buscot Wick.
