Flood alert for River Churn and its tributaries

Property flooding is not currently expected.

River levels are slowly falling on the River Churn in the Cerney Wick area following recent rainfall and high groundwater levels. Flooding of low lying land and roads is possible over the coming days, especially in the Cerney Wick area.

The forecast today, 19/04/2024, is mainly dry with a few light scattered showers possible, clearing to leave a dry day Saturday. River levels are expected to continue slowly falling over the coming days but remain sensitive to further rainfall.

We are closely monitoring the situation. Avoid using low lying footpaths near local watercourses. Go to the 'River and Sea levels in England' webpage for current river levels.
