Flood warning for Shill Brook at Carterton and Bampton

Property flooding is expected. River levels are rising on the Shill Brook as a result of heavy rainfall from Storm Bert. Therefore, flooding of property and roads is expected this evening and overnight, 24/11/2024, especially in the Mill Green road area. Further rainfall is forecast overnight which should clear by the morning. We expect river levels to continue rising overnight before stabilising tomorrow morning.
We are closely monitoring the situation. Move possessions and valuables off the ground or to safety. Activate any property flood protection products such as flood barriers. Go to the 'River and Sea levels in England' webpage for current river levels. This message will be updated tomorrow morning, 25/11/2024, or as the situation changes.
Flood warning area: Shill Brook at Carterton and Bampton, from Shilton to Aston, including the Black Bourton Brook, and the Highmoor Brook at Brize Norton.
