Flood warning for River Thames from Buscot Wick down to Shifford

Property flooding is expected. River levels are rising steadily on the River Thames following heavy rainfall from Storm Bert. Therefore, flooding of property and roads is expected from this evening 25/11/24 and overnight. Areas most at risk are properties located closest to the River Thames in the Kelmscott and Buscot Wick areas.

The forecast is for a predominantly dry night with further rainfall forecast from tomorrow night (26/11/2024) into Wednesday. River levels are expected to continue to rise slowly overnight before stabilising during the day tomorrow. We are monitoring the situation and operating our weirs to manage flood risk. Our staff are liaising with councils and emergency services. Move possessions and valuables off the ground or to safety. Activate any property flood protection products such as flood barriers. This message will be updated tomorrow morning, 26/11/24, or earlier as the situation changes.
