Flood alert for Groundwater flooding in the Upper Aldbourne Valley

Get flood warnings by phone, text or email

High groundwater levels may lead to flooding. Flooding of low-lying areas and roads is possible.

Groundwater levels are now falling very gradually at our Water Acre borehole in the Upper Aldbourne Valley. We expect levels to remain high over the next few weeks and levels will remain sensitive to further sustained rainfall. Due to the nature of groundwater flooding, this situation could continue for several weeks or longer.

We are closely monitoring rainfall and groundwater levels.

Keep up to date with groundwater levels on the 'Get Flood Warnings' site on gov.uk. Take particular care when driving through flood water both for your own safety and to prevent flooding to others.

This message will be updated by 12 PM, on the 17 March 2026, or as the situation changes.
