Continued high groundwater levels may lead to flooding. Flooding of low-lying areas and roads is possible. Groundwater levels are now at the point where properties may be impacted.
Groundwater levels are falling very gradually at our Hodcot borehole affecting West Ilsley, East Ilsley, Compton, Chilton and West Hagbourne. The groundwater level remains higher than normal for this time of year. Due to the nature of groundwater flooding, this situation could continue for several weeks or longer.
Residents are advised to consider property resilience measures and ensure that pumps are working where they have been installed. Keep up to date with groundwater levels on the 'Get Flood Warnings' site on gov.uk.
