Flood warning for Isolated properties and villages near the River Nene from Wellingborough to Thrapston

Heavy rain is currently falling in the River Nene catchment and will continue throughout today, Sunday 24th November. This is causing the River Nene to rise and is forecast to continue to rise through this evening. Low lying areas near the River are already flooded and we now expect properties from Wellingborough to Thrapston to be affected from this evening onwards. Further rainfall is forecast this evening and river levels are expected to continue to rise. Remain safe and be aware of your local surroundings. Please avoid contact with flood water. Our staff are out in the area to check the flood defences, clear blockages, and assist the emergency services and council. We will be closely monitoring the situation and this message will be updated online and on FloodLine by Monday, 25th November, or before if the situation changes.
