Flooding is possible - be prepared

Flood alert for The tidal River Yare from Thorpe St Andrew to Breydon Water

Get flood warnings by phone, text or email

Tide locking, where high tides restrict normal drainage of the river out to sea, this afternoon may lead to flooding.

Flooding is possible from 3pm to 6pm on Wednesday 25th March, and from 3am to 7am on Thursday 26th March.

We expect to see high water levels in Brundall and Reedham riverside areas. River levels will remain high over the next couple of days due to tide locking, which is where tides restrict normal drainage of the river out to the sea.

We are monitoring rainfall and river levels .

Take care and avoid walking, cycling or driving through flood water . Avoid using low lying footpaths which may be flooded.

This message will be updated by 10:00AM on 26 March 2026 or as the situation changes.
