Flooding is possible - be prepared

Flood alert for The tidal Rivers Bure, Ant and Thurne

Get flood warnings by phone, text or email

Tide locking where high tides restrict normal drainage of the river out to sea, today may lead to flooding. Flooding is possible today, Sunday 26th October 2025. We expect to see high water levels around Potter Heigham, Wroxham boat yards and Ferry Road in Horning. The high tide overnight tonight is not expected to be as high, and we expect levels in the Broads to start returning to normal soon. We are closely monitoring the situation. Avoid low lying roads near rivers, which may be flooded. This message will be updated by 10:00am tomorrow, Monday 27th October 2025, or as the situation changes.

Flood alert area: The tidal Rivers Bure from Wroxham Bridge, Ant from Honing and Thurne from Hickling, to Breydon Water.
