Tide locking where high tides restrict normal drainage of the river out to sea, today may lead to flooding. Flooding is possible today Friday 9 January 2026 and over the next few days. We expect to see high water levels around Potter Heigham, Wroxham boat yards and Ferry Road in Horning. River levels will remain high over the next few days. Rainfall last night and through today will also contribute to high river levels. We are closely monitoring the situation. Avoid low lying roads near rivers, which may be flooded. This message will be updated by by 10:00am on Saturday 10 January 2026 or as the situation changes.
Flood alert area: The tidal Rivers Bure from Wroxham Bridge, Ant from Honing and Thurne from Hickling, to Breydon Water.
