Flood alert for Lower River Witham
Get flood warnings by phone, text or email
On Monday, we saw heavy rainfall in the Lower Witham catchment area. This means that the River Witham has risen, leading to flooding of low-lying land and roads close to the river. No further rain is forecast for the next few days, however we expect the river to remain high and flooding to gardens, driveways or outhouses is possible close to the river. Our forecasts indicate that flooding inside properties is possible and therefore flood warnings have been issued. We are constantly monitoring river levels and have staff in the field checking for blockages and clearing weedscreens. Please avoid using low lying footpaths near local watercourses and plan driving routes to avoid low lying roads near rivers, which may be flooded. This message will be updated online and on FloodLine on 12/01/25, or before if the situation changes.
Flood alert area: Lower River Witham from Lincoln to Boston. Tributaries may also affect Woodhall Spa, Coningsby, South Kyme, and Bardney.
