Get flood warnings by phone, text or email

This information is correct as of 08:00 on 12th January 2026. The causeway at Sutton Gault has approximately 9 centimetres of water on the road. In response to the levels Highways have closed the causeway. There are currently no issues on the Earith and Welney causeway. Due to uneven surface of the roads, water may be deeper in places. Flooding is possible today as a result of heavy rainfall from Storm Goretti. We are not expecting the situation to escalate, or to issue any further warning messages at this time.

We are monitoring rainfall and river levels.

Never drive through flood water, just 30cm of fast flowing water is enough to move your car. Monitor local water levels and weather conditions.

This message will be updated by 16:00AM on 12 January 2026 or as the situation changes.

Flood alert area: Hundred Foot Washes, also known as the Ouse Washes, including the causeways at Earith, Sutton Gault and Welney.
