River levels are rising steadily in response to heavy rainfall from Storm Bert and overnight last night. Flooding is possible. Areas most at risk are Wyboston Lakes, School Lane in Eaton Socon, Hardwick Road and Springbrook in Eynesbury, The Paddock and Crosshall Road in Eaton Ford and River Terrace, Priory Lane, Chandlers Wharf, Brook Street, Church Street and Browns Square in St Neots. If you have property level resilience, you are advised to install it now. Find out if your community assistance centre is open at www.bedford.gov.uk. There is no significant rainfall forecast for the next few days. Take care on riverside roads and footpaths, and don't put yourself in unnecessary danger. We are monitoring the situation and are not expecting it to escalate. We will update this message by 10am tomorrow, Thursday 28 November 2024.
