River levels are now returning to normal. The forecast is for no significant rainfall for over the next few days. Continue to take care on waterside roads and footpaths, and don't put yourself in unnecessary danger. We will continue to monitor levels closely.
Flood alert area: The River Wid from Brentwood, to and including Writtle, and the River Can at Chelmsford.
