High river levels overnight may lead to flooding.
Flooding is possible from overnight on 06 February 2026 .
River levels are rising in places following the recent rainfall. Areas most at risk are low lying roads and riverside areas along the River Chelmer between Thaxted and Chelmsford, including Great Dunmow.
We are monitoring rainfall and river levels . Further rainfall is forecast so river levels may remain high.
Take care and avoid walking, cycling or driving through flood water .
