The flood alert was removed

The Essex coast from Clacton to and including, St Peters Flat and the Colne and Blackwater estuaries flood alert area

Get flood warnings by phone, text or email

There is no longer a threat of flooding, though standing water and debris may still remain.

We do not expect to see similar impacts from the next high tide. The risk from high tides today has passed, however we fully expect to issue another flood alert for high tide at Clacton tomorrow lunchtime.

We will continue to monitor the situation and will issue further alerts or warnings if necessary.

Continue to take care on waterside roads and footpaths and don't put yourself in unnecessary danger. Never drive through flood water, just 30cm of fast flowing water is enough to move your car.

Flood alert area: The Essex coast from Clacton to St Peters Flat, including Jaywick, Brightlingsea, Mersea Island, Heybridge, Maldon and the Colne and Blackwater estuaries.
