Get flood warnings by phone, text or email

Flooding is possible this evening and overnight on 26 August 2026.

Areas most at risk are low-lying agricultural land and roads around the tributaries of the River Trent in Nottinghamshire, the River Greet, Potwell Dyke, Dover Beck, Cocker Beck, Woodborough Brook, Ouse Dyke, Thurgarton Beck and others. Thunderstorms are forecast over the next 6 hours, with low confidence over timing and locations. River levels at Lowdham Gauge may rise rapidly due to the nature of the catchment.

Further heavy rainfall is forecast throughout Thursday, 27/08/2026. We are closely monitoring the situation & clearing debris from weed screens. Avoid using low lying footpaths and any bridges near local watercourses & monitor local water levels and weather conditions. This message will be updated by 09:00 AM on 27 August 2026, or as the situation changes.

Flood alert area: Tributaries in Nottinghamshire including the River Greet, Potwell Dyke, Carr Dyke, Dover Beck, Cocker Beck, Thurgarton Beck, Fairham Brook and others.
