Snow melt may result in rising river levels which could lead to flooding. Flooding is possible from today, 09/01/26. Areas most at risk are low-lying agricultural land and roads including Priorswell Road, Central Avenue, Steeley Lane at Worksop, Snape Lane at Serlby, Mill Lane and Great North Road at Scrooby. River levels at the Worksop River Gauge are expected to rise slowly over the next 24 hours due to melting snow. No further significant rainfall is forecast over the next 24 hours. We are closely monitoring the situation. Take care and avoid walking, cycling or driving through flood water. This message will be updated by 10am on 10 January 2026 or as the situation changes.

Flood alert area: River Ryton and tributaries from Lindrick Dale to Scrooby and Oldcotes Dyke from Oldcotes to Blyth.
