Flooding is possible - be prepared

Flood alert for River Erewash in Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire

Get flood warnings by phone, text or email

River levels are high but steady at the Pinxton and Shipley Gate river gauges as a result of rainfall and snowmelt associated with Storm Bert. Consequently, flooding of roads and farmland remains possible. Areas most at risk are low-lying agricultural land and roads around Pinxton, including the Pinxton Wharf access road, Langley Mill, Ilkeston, Stapleford, and the recreation area at Sandiacre.

We expect river levels to remain high until later tomorrow, 24/11/24.

We are closely monitoring the situation. Our incident response staff have been patrolling watercourses in the area.

Please plan driving routes to avoid low-lying roads near rivers, which may be flooded and avoid contact with flood water.

To check the status of road closures online, please visit the One Network live map.

This message will be updated by 09:00, 24/11/24, or as the situation changes.

Flood alert area: River Erewash from Kirkby-in-Ashfield to the River Trent at Attenborough.
