Flood alert for River Trent in Nottinghamshire

River levels are rising at the Colwick and Shardlow river gauges as a result of persistent rainfall. Consequently, the flooding risk remains. Areas most at risk are low-lying agricultural land and roads including Queens Drive Park and Ride, Caythorpe to Hoveringham, Attenborough, Clifton, Colwick, Stoke Bardolph, Gunthorpe, Fiskerton, Farndon, Newark, Kelham, South and North Muskham areas, and cellars of low-lying properties at Cavendish Bridge. B6540 Tamworth Road at Sawley, Thrumpton Lane at Thrumpton. Caythorpe to Hoveringham Road, Stoke Lane at Stoke Bardolph may be impassable, Ferry Boat Inn at Stoke Bardolph may be affected and Bulcote Minor Flood Bank may overtop. Queens Drive Park and Ride site may be affected, Shelford to Gunthorpe Rd and Wykes Lane at Farndon may be impassable to traffic and Kelham Rd at Newark will be affected. We expect river levels to remain high until the weekend. We are closely monitoring the situation. Please avoid using low-lying footpaths near local watercourses.
