Flood alert for River Trent in Nottinghamshire

Rising river levels today may lead to flooding. 

Flooding is possible on 28 January 2026 from 15:00PM 

Areas most at risk are low-lying agricultural land and roads including communities near to the River Trent, and cellars of low-lying properties at Cavendish Bridge. Minimal rainfall is forecast. River levels at Shardlow Gauge will remain high for the next few days. 

We are closely monitoring the situation . 

Avoid using low lying footpaths and any bridges near local watercourses
