High river levels today may lead to flooding. Areas most at risk are low-lying agricultural land and roads including Willington, Ingleby, Barrow upon Trent, Swarkestone, Bargate Lane and the access roads to Willington Meadows, the Twyford Village access road, Church Lane at Barrow, and Ingleby Lane, the B5008 at Willington, the access frontage at Swarkestone, the A5132 between Willington and Barrow, and Meadow Lane. Rainfall is forecast over the next 48 hours. River levels at Willington and Shardlow gauges remain high and are forecast to remain high until at least Monday 16 February 2026. We are closely monitoring the situation. Take care and avoid walking, cycling or driving through flood water. This message will be updated by 10:00 AM on 16 February 2026 or as the situation changes.
