Flood alert for River Wye in Derbyshire

The risk of flooding is reducing. Areas most at risk are low-lying agricultural land and roads including Ashford and Bakewell areas. No further rainfall is forecast. River levels at Ashford in the Water Gauge will remain high until this afternoon. We are closely monitoring the situation. Avoid using low lying footpaths and any bridges near local watercourses & plan driving routes to avoid low-lying roads near rivers. This message will be updated by 17:00 on 28 January 2026 or as the situation changes.
