Flood alert for Tributaries in Leicester City

Rising river levels today may lead to flooding. 

Flooding is possible from the afternoon of 15 February 2026 . 

Areas most at risk are low-lying roads and land around the brooks in Leicester City, including recreational land where water depths could become hazardous. Areas particularly at risk include those around the Braunstone Brook, Lubbesthorpe Brook, Melton Brook, Saffron Brook, Willow Brook, Bushby Brook, Evington Brook, Thurnby Brook and Scraptoft Brook. Rainfall is forecast over the next 24 hours. River levels at the Leicester Tuffleys Way and Spinney Hill Park Gauges are rising. 

We are closely monitoring the situation . 

Take care and avoid walking, cycling or driving through flood water .

Flood alert area: Leicester City Tributaries including Willow, Evington, Bushby, Thurnby, Scraptoft, Melton and Braunstone Brooks.
