Flood alert for Rothley Brook, Quorn Brook and Sileby Brook in Leicestershire

Forecast rising river levels today may lead to flooding. 

Flooding is possible from overnight on 15 January 2026 . 

Areas most at risk are low-lying agricultural land and roads including the Morrisons parks at Glenfield and Anstey. Low-lying land and farmlands in the Glenfield, Anstey, Sileby, Thurcaston, Rothley, Newtown Linford, Cropston, Swithland and Quorn areas. Heavy rainfall is forecast over the next 24 hours. River levels at Glenfield Gauge will begin rising at 14:00 on 15/01/26. 

We are closely monitoring the situation . 

Take care and avoid walking, cycling or driving through flood water & avoid using low-lying footpaths near local watercourses.

Flood alert area: Rothley Brook and tributaries from Thornton to the River Soar at Rothley. Quorn Brook and tributaries from Newtown Linford to the River Soar at Quorn. Sileby Brook to the River Soar.
