Flood alert for Rothley Brook, Quorn Brook and Sileby Brook in Leicestershire

River levels have risen at the Glenfield river gauge as a result of heavy rainfall. Consequently, flooding of roads and farmland is possible until 17:00 today, 19/12/2024. Areas most at risk are low-lying agricultural land and roads including the Morrisons parks at Glenfield and Anstey. Low-lying land and farmlands in the Glenfield, Anstey, Sileby, Thurcaston, Rothley, Newtown Linford, Cropston, Swithland and Quorn areas.

No further significant rainfall is forecast. We expect river levels to remain high until 18:00 on 19/12/2024.

We are closely monitoring the situation. Our incident response staff are patrolling watercourses in the area.

Please avoid using low-lying footpaths near local watercourses and plan driving routes to avoid low-lying roads near rivers, which may be flooded.
