Flood warning for River Trent at Swarkestone

High river levels are expected to cause flooding overnight. 

Flooding is expected from overnight on 07 February 2026 . 

Areas most at risk are Derby Road, Trentside, Church Lane, Trent Lane and Woodshop Lane. Swarkestone, including Swarkestone Access Frontage, Stanton by Bridge, and Kings Newton are also at risk. Light rainfall is forecast over the next 24 hours. River levels at Shardlow Gauge are rising slowly. Levels will remain high until Tuesday 10/02/2026. 

We are closely monitoring the situation . 

Activate any flood protection products you may have & move possessions and valuables off the ground or to safety.

Flood warning area: River Trent at Swarkestone including Stanton by Bridge and Kings Newton including the Priest House and Swarkestone Bridge.
