Flood warning for River Soar at North Aylestone

Rising river levels are expected to cause flooding this evening. 

Flooding is expected on 28 February 2026 imminently. 

Areas most at risk are Batten Street, Rutland Avenue and Erith Road. Aylestone Lock Industrial Estate and surrounding residential properties are also at risk. Light rainfall is forecast over the next 24 hours. River levels at Freemans Weir Gauge will rise until approximately midnight tonight, 28/02/2026. Levels will remain high until tomorrow afternoon, 01/03/2026. 

We are closely monitoring the situation . 

Start acting on your flood plan if you have one and move possessions and valuables off the ground or to safety.
