Flooding is possible - be prepared

Flood alert for River Churnet and River Tean

Get flood warnings by phone, text or email

River levels are forecast to rise in the area overnight as a result of Storm Herminia. Consequently, flooding of roads and farmland is expected from this evening, through to tomorrow morning, 27/01/2025. We expect flooding to affect low-lying land and roads in the area.

Further, potentially heavy, rainfall is forecast overnight. We expect river levels to rise in response to this through the night.

We are closely monitoring the situation. Our incident response staff are actively checking river levels and the weather forecast.

Please avoid using low lying footpaths and bridges near local watercourses and plan driving routes to avoid low lying roads near rivers, which may be flooded.

This message will be updated tomorrow morning, 27/01/2025, or as the situation changes.

Flood alert area: Low-lying land and roads between Leek and Rocester on the River Churnet and between Adderley and Spath on the River Tean including Cecilly Brook at Cheadle.
