Flood warning for River Trent at riverside areas of Burton upon Trent

River levels remain high but are falling at the Drakelow river gauge as a result of rainfall and snowmelt. We expect flooding to affect properties around Waterside Road area in Stapenhill, Burton Bridge area, Newton Road area in Winshill and Church Lane in Newton Solney.

No further significant rainfall is forecast overnight and into tomorrow morning, 09/01/2025, but we expect river levels to remain high throughout the night.

We are closely monitoring the situation. Our incident response staff are actively checking river levels and the weather forecast.

Please stay aware in case further warnings are issued and avoid contact with flood water. Call 999 if in immediate danger.
