Flood warning for River Hamps at Waterhouses

River levels are rising at the Waterhouses river gauge as a result of rainfall associated with Storm Bert. Consequently, flooding of property is possible this afternoon and into the evening. Flooding is expected to affect the A523 at Waterhouses and surrounding properties.
Further rainfall is forecast over the next 24 hours and we expect river levels to rise throughout the evening.
We are closely monitoring the situation. Our incident response staff are checking defences and clearing screens across the area. We are actively checking river levels and the weather forecast.
