Flood alert for River Avon in Worcestershire

River levels are rising at the Evesham river gauge as a result of heavy rainfall.

Consequently, flooding of property, roads and farmland is expected today, Sunday 24/11/24.

We expect flooding to affect low lying land and roads adjacent the River Avon from Abbotts Salford to Tewkesbury. Other locations that may be affected include Offenham, Evesham, Twyning and the Eckington Road.

Predicted peaks:- Evesham 2.4m to 2.7m on Monday, 25/11/24,

Bredon 2.9m to 3.1m on Tuesday, 26/11/24.

We expect river levels to remain high for the next few days.

We are closely monitoring the situation. Our incident response staff are liaising with emergency services and Local Authorities.

Please plan driving routes to avoid low lying roads near rivers, which may be flooded, and avoid contact with flood water.
