Flood alert for River Wye in Gloucestershire

River levels are falling but remain high at the Ross-On-Wye river gauge.  Consequently, flooding of roads and farmland is possible. We expect flooding to affect low lying land and roads along the River Wye.

Observed peak:- Ross-on-Wye 4.56m on Monday morning 09/12/2024.

Observed peak:- Lydbrook 6.23m on Monday afternoon 09/12/2024.

No significant rainfall is forecast for the next few days. River levels are now falling but will remain high for several days.

We are closely monitoring the situation. Our incident response staff are liaising with emergency services and Local Authorities. Please avoid using low-lying footpaths near local watercourses and plan driving routes to avoid low lying roads near rivers, which may be flooded.
