Flood alert for River Wye in Gloucestershire

River levels are forecast to rise at the Ross-On-Wye river gauge as a result of Storm Barra Consequently, flooding of roads and farmland is expected overnight. We expect flooding to affect low lying land and roads along the River Wye. Predicted Peaks:- Ross on Wye 3.5m to 4.0m Thursday overnight. Further rainfall is forecast over the next 12 hours. We expect river levels to remain high into the weekend. We are closely monitoring the situation. Our incident response staff are checking defences. Please avoid using low lying footpaths near local watercourses and plan driving routes to avoid low lying roads near rivers, which may be flooded. This message will be updated by 09:00 on 09/12/21, or as the situation changes.
