Flood alert for River Dee catchment in England from Whitchurch to Chester

River levels are falling slowly but are expected to remain above the Flood Alert threshold throughout the day.

Locations most affected are low lying land and roads around the River Dee at Shocklach, Farndon, Handley, Lower Kinnerton, Chester and Puddington.

Townfield Lane may still be impassable.

We are continuing to monitor the situation .

Avoid using low lying footpaths and any bridges near local watercourses around the River Dee and its tributaries.

Do not attempt to walk or drive through flood water
