River levels remain high today. Flooding is possible on 18 December 2025. Locations most affected will be low lying land and roads near river Eden and its tributaries from its confluence with the River Irthing through Crosby-on-Eden and Carlisle to the Solway Firth at Rockcliffe. Further rainfall is expected this evening and overnight (18/12/2025). We are monitoring rainfall and river levels. Avoid using low lying footpaths and any bridges near local watercourses. This message will be updated by 10:00 on 19 December 2025 or as the situation changes.
