Flood alert for Groundwater flooding in Bishops Sutton

Groundwater levels in Bishops Sutton are high but have fallen by 4cm during the last week. During that time, 16mm of rain has been recorded in Bishops Sutton. A small number of properties are expected to be experiencing cellar flooding. Roads (such as the B3046) are expected to be affected by flooding particularly after heavy rainfall. Impacts to septic tanks are ongoing. During the next 5 days, spells of rain and showers, some of which may be heavy, are expected to affect Hampshire, with between 5 and 30mm of rain possible in that time. Groundwater levels are expected to continue slowly falling during the next week, but may stabilise or rise for a day if heavy rainfall affects the area. Flooding impacts are expected to continue throughout much of May and possibly into June. We continue to monitor the levels and forecast.
