Flooding is possible - be prepared

Flood alert for Nailbourne and Little Stour

River levels have continued to fall slowly on the Little Stour and Nailbourne during May; however, flooding may continue to affect low lying land and roads along the Nailbourne around Elham, Barham, Bridge and Bekesbourne, and on the Little Stour around Littlebourne and Wickhambreux. Please avoid driving or walking through floodwater.

As of Friday 17 May 2024, the forecast is for localised showers until Saturday evening with drier conditions following into next week. We are actively monitoring the situation, liaising with partners, and our staff are maintaining and clearing key structures. The Littlebourne Flood Relief channel is operating.
